If I need to disturb the plants in the dark, can I use green light? Thanks.

I used on my first grow without issues but after looking into it further, decided against using again for above reason

    Thanks, Gardro and AND.

It's almost like the wavelengths have to be so precise for green light to be a non-issue, but then as many strains and phenos there are, what is "precise" becomes debatable. Thanks, I am just gonna leave them be. Don't want them going sexually confused.

I've done a bit of research into why HPS delivers so much punch and it's got something to do with the plentiful green light in their spectrum

I've used them with no issues. I've also used standard green bulbs as well, flashlights and my phone light. If you have good genetics it won't be an issue most of the time. I check my plants at all hours, mostly during the day and have never worried about light leaks nor has it been a problem with plants going hermie. What strains do you have?

    Thanks for your replay, Spartacuss.

I am just contingency planning. Had an Auto Ogre gone hermie on me, and a Thai that selfed a tiny bit, so am just looking at what other options there are out there, or if I can tighten up my set up in what way. I don't mess with them in the dark, but want to see how much of a leeway there is for getting to them after dark. It's fine if I "can't", or just plain "better not".

yea no problem, and I'm the same way when it comes to planning. Always want to be prepared but something usually always comes up out of the blue.. I was like that when I first began growing about light leaks and messing with the plants in the dark but as I grew more and more I realized that other factors came into play moreso than light leaks when it comes to the hermies--usually being the strain--Since I became selective on where I purchased from and what I grow I haven't had any hermie on me--and mine hit the light constantly in the dark...Autos that hermie are usually genetic as they flower naturally without changes in light so check on them anytime, its the photos that are more likely to cause probs b/c of light issues
