Default Answered: A little bit of algae

I've got a little bit of algae near the top of the root ball of my larger plants. I am going to give them a little squirt of 3% peroxide. I've heard that this won't harm the plants.

    Could you please advise?

Rinse the roots rinse the pots tubs buckets. Give them a good clean down and replace. Try to figure out why or what is causing the algae to grow and yeah you can use the peroxide just give them a real good rinse afterwards 😃🇬🇧

What medium are you growing in? I have only tried 3% diluted with 4x water for a fungus gnat larvae drench. Plants survived but I dont think they liked it. I was in soil. I believe it kills the benificial micro herd in the soil. Can you pick off the algae?

I would wait for a hydro grower to step in. Straight 3% sounds strong for direct root contact but may be fine with a rinse.

No problem remember any organic material/matter will generally grow in dwc as ya create the prefect breeding ground for algae. The water air and temps do this. This is the reason for trying to keep dwc sterile as possible 😃🇬🇧

I sprayed them with straight 3% peroxide then rinsed. They are doing fine. I have my plants in hydroton clay pellets. I probably have some light leakage there. I'll fill the baskets more as the plants get taller.

    I really appreciate the help.

    Cheers
