You really do need to get a microscope to as M C says take the guesswork out of when to crop, all the best G'.

If you happen to be an amateur astronomer like me or just have a old telescope lying around a 25mm Plossl lens inverted will get you the magnification you need. 10mm 25mm and 40mm lenses are usually the three standard sizes every telescope kit comes with so even if someone in your house got a cheap one years ago or something you probably have those lenses. Spending a few bucks to have one with a led light built in for viewing would be nice though.

Yep like everyone says basically its Impossible to know looking at it. You need to observe the Trichomes using some kind of magnification...check the actual Buds as the leaves will say they are ready sooner usually..once you find something use the chart M_C gave you to get an idea of where you stand..what strain is this--looks good
