How bigs your pot/container even better bed!
You will be able to lower your ph with the addition of gypsum and it won’t happen over night and you’ll have to be careful doing this because you can lock up magnesium,
I would just do a couple compost/casting teas without the addition of any nutrients just the microbes and let them deal with the matter, and again it all comes down to the quality of the material your starting with.
I haven’t checked my ph once in 4 years when it comes to the soil. The last bed was 3 years old and just run itself,
Are you using a mulch or cover crop because believe it or not this can help too

Thanks Redz! Always happy to have your input!
I am in 10 gallons of soil. I allowed the plant to overgrow the pot I think. Soil is just one massive root mass with roots poking out the top and roots poking thru the fabric pot at the bottom.
I have been top dressing with Malibu compost biodynamic compost. There is no more space to top dress.
I did not use a top layer.
I am mid flower so I am looking for a quick fix. I know this is difficult in living soil.
I think the high soil PH is caused by no more soil buffer and tap water of around 8.
I read that brewed coffee in 7.0 bottled water will be at 6.8 and lower the soil a bit as a drench. Any thoughts?

I'm subbed up for this. It is very interesting so far. I am doing general hydroponics flora series, calimagic, silicate blast and adding koolbloom as a flower supplement.

Following the GH nute guidelines online, plus supplements I am running quite hot.

I start with 0 ec in reverse osmosis water. I am ending up with 2.2 in dwc for mature veg plants. This is 3/4 strength. The plants seem to love it. My r/o water is 8.3 pH before nutes and 5.8 after.

I decided against organic due to the dwc. It becomes much more complex trying to get and maintain the necessary microbes in the medium. I hear that organic dwc water mix stinks.

I'm looking to go for an as organic as possible powdered nutrient solution from RAW for when I start my new room in the new year.

    1:1:1
    Coco/peat
    Aeration
    GOOD QUALITY castings or compost

And sorry what’s the 65% soil your adding if your making a soil bro?

Thank you. I was thinking that perlite was a waisted opportunity for more substantial items and you've given me a list!

The %65 is because I am starting with a local mixed composte/soil. I do not have the % on mix, (her husband wasnt at the store when I came in.)

Youll be fine with the kelp, yucca and one or two others like the enzymes, cane mollases and microbes but you may need to look elsewhere for a base due to them being mineral synthetics ie non organic.

If its simple non liquid feeds your interested in check out biotabs it couldnt be any easier

The biotabs are a great idea and I agree it does look too good to be true. But the grow logs out there speak for themselves.

Biotabs coupled up with an autopot system are perfect for the lazy grower. Literally effortless. I think with these the amount of tabs used and the medium chosen from the start is key to a trouble free grow.

You can buy a complete package from them now which includes bennys and a pk etc but Id like to use the tabs only to start and see if these extras are really needed.

    Hello easy

Good to hear your giving the coco a go

I havent used this brand and never will, avoid the full package as you really dont need all that. Base nutes and a pk will give you the results and save you plenty of money.

Keep it simple for the first run and get a feel for Ec and Ph.
