    Default Autos vs Photos

Hi guys. I’ve been growing for just over a year now
    10 x ladies each time under 3 x 600w air cooled XLs
10L air pots in coco feeding canna nutes ( a+b + rhizo and canna boost )
Plants are always healthy and grow well. ECs and PH are always correct.
Until now I’ve always grown Autos, so far Fast buds Gorilla glue, star dawg, Tangiematic, as well as
    Mephistos sour crack and others.
Most of these are 9-10 weeks from seed to harvest.
Despite growing medium sized (1m-1.5m) plants which always seem healthy etc
I’ve only managed to yield 2 ounces per plants at the most each time.
I know everyone’s got the friend of a friend who manages 10 ounces a plant,
but would it be worth switching to photoperiod strains to compare the difference in yield?

Basically, what’s everyone’s experience with autos vs photos yield wise?
    Thanks in advance
    YB

auto or photo is only part of the outcome, your environment and training/growing/watering style are even more important

if you want mothers or a supply of clones you'll need photos, or 1-2 plants with 16 tops and 20weeks veg
if it's just for a quick turn around it's auto

your using 1800w total so you should really be around 40-60oz
might need to rethink your growing/training style mate

That's all I have ever been able to managed from an Auto, about 2oz each. That's why I only Photo's. I see record breaking 16oz a plant from Auto's, but I don't think I have the time to try to do that. Much easy to get 6 oz photo's and as much as 9 or 10 some times. So, Auto's to me is just a waist of time.

you can generally get a little bit more per auto plant than the seed writeup says on the seedbanks, but if it says 25-45gpp then likely thats what youll get, clues in the seed writeup.

want bigger result get the higher rated seeds/strains,plenty out there rated at 100+g,some are around 150gpp.

main benefit to auto is the quick turnaround, resulting in more grows per year, and also the easiness and lack of problems with light hours etc.

swings and roundabouts, just grow whatever fits into your life/enviroment/needs.

personally my lifestyle is daily chaos, powercuts and shite water etc, temps n rh are a nightmare to control here as well and autos seem to cope ok even with me growing them, ive tried photos and it didnt go well lol,i hated not being able to open tent when i wanted to,plus i dont need larger amounts,i took a few years out from erbs and now as a returner i get as good a buzz off a tiny bit of bud that i used to get from whole bud, even several buds, mind this is in my arizer as i only vape now and of course isnt streetweed, is my diy erb, properly setup the arizer is much the same hit as a hotknife .

Autos for quickness.i can average 3-6oz so if I get 16-18oz of 4 in 3 months then I’m a happy bunny.
    That’s every 3 months 😉

    It’s a 1.5m x 3m space so pretty large.

Well with photo periodic plants you can allow them to get bigger since you control how long they veg. With autos you don't have that choice.
It takes a bit longer but if you have a separate veg room that won't be an issue at all and you could still run the same amount of grows as you would with autos in your flower room.
Also as mentioned above photo periodic plants can be kept as mothers for clones if that's your thing.

I'm currently doing two autos since I had those seeds but will go to photo periodic plants after that.
