Default Making mums (cough cough), clones and feminised plants... :)

    Hey chaps,

I've had a good search n read and can't seem to find answers to a few questions around this process.

A few direct questions if that's okay, all kind of related...

Will a clone from a feminised seed plant always turn female after the 12/12 switch

Is it a bad idea to take a clone from a feminised seed plant and turn it into a mother?

Once you have a mother and take clones from her, is it 50/50 as to what sex they will be, so you need to take twice as many clones as you need with the expectation of giving about half the chop when you go 12/12 and establish the sex.

    Thanks a million!

    Tony

    Morning Tony,

A clone taken from a female plant will stay female all through her life.

If the female seeds is a great pheno, then it's a good idea to make her a mother plant.

    See answer 1

    Hope that's been helpful.

    Morning Loki,

Thanks again for the advice, very helpful

Is there any large benefit from making a mother from regular seeds vs feminised seeds, or is it largely by the by, as long as you have found a plant you really like etc?

Yeah man, it's all about preference, if you like a strain & want to carry it on, it's all about cuttings.

For me personally, I would prefer cuts from Regs, but female regs.

Making seeds female involves taking lots of cuttings from a female plant then reversing the sex of the mother plant, the reversed pollen is then used to pollinate all the cuttings, this will produce female only seeds
