Hello all, new to RDWC. Do any of you lads trim your roots if so how, when and how often?

I havnt ever trimmed my roots in mine. I only cut bits off when their starting to try and go down the pipes. I have seen a video on you tube about it though but I havnt risked it myself.

Thanks Ginger mate, I am in 50 litre tubs with 2" pipe work returns. Problem is Once I put the net over I can't get into the tubs at all. Was thinking of a bit of a trim just before flip.

Just seen some pics of root porn on another forum and the guy recons he cuts around 4" off the bottom 2 weeks before flip which makes sense to me. My understanding is when cut they will branch out, a bit like topping or fimming.

I’ve cut my roots back in dwc a couple of times and hacked em right back . Plant stood still for a few days and then shot off like a rocket. I’ve done it on plants with a rotten root base and because the buckets have been filled with roots and hardly any room for water
