    Be nice if there was still a few more tokers on here into it, as i live in the UK our history is amazing and i love showing my finds insted of chucking them in a draw never to be seen again.

    Not sure were your from mate but i dont do mutch beach detecting as its the history im into not realy the value of the finds i am into alltho i do a little bit of beach detecting in the winter when we have had some big storms

    I fancy gettin into it, iv searched web and found a few supposed gold spots in the uk, aint convinced enough to fork out on a decent detector tho lol ... have you ever found anything with a decent monetary value?

    i did it for years mate ... used to run a club .... found a few nice bits .... the only info i can give ya is to research any area well , before even thinking of going there detecting .... local library will have old old maps etc and google earth is great for looking for markings in fields etc too mate ...

    Some one on here found a Roman coin before, really cool.

    Another hobby I?d like to get into, I live in a place that has been around for over 1000 years, looooaaaddddss of history here, shame its developed into the shit hole it is now, but it once was a great place.

    One day I?ll do it, get a good detector and go metal fishing lol, seems like an awesome hobby, but I bet it soon gets boring if you keep finding bottle tops lol

    I fear metal detecting might involve me going outside and walking. Unfortunately I'm allergic to both.

    I once found a WW2 Japanese rifle Bayonette in the middle of the bush in Canada ... im talkin 40 miles away from nearest town no less when i was about 8-10yrs old with my dad preparing our hunting blinds . Go figure that one out . The nuke droppin on Hiroshima in '45 must have blown it all the way into space and landed here .

    I'd love to find some genuine old bits of interest but never know where to go really thats why I'd go to the beach and hope to get lucky lol
