Depends how close together the light strips or diodes are together. Some dont require it.

I've actually been thinking about this, wouldn't those that don't strictly require it not run a bit more efficient if you would add a heatsink to them? Maybe have a slightly higher light output?
Reason I'm asking is because I have a 60W IS panel and recently lifted a power source for some old radio equipment out of the bins here with a pretty decent heat sink on it that I could probably slap on there.

Good morning guys hope all is well.
I know I'm 6 months late looking into this thread but I'm wanting to go down the led route with my next grow (so reading what I can before ask questions) 1st thing i need to say is WOW that's a proper led setup that I'm deffinatly going to work towards dependant on the reply to this question...
On post #166 you mention no touchy feely on the 480's..can someone explain why these aren't safe to touch or what can be done to make them safe?
