Default Lighting for the first stage (New to growing)

    Hello all

Just after a bit of noob advice please

Got my 60x40x200 tent setup now, Popped an auto seed in some damp cotton wool and its out about 1cm, Going to move it to pre-soaked rockwool block soon.

What kind of lighting does it need at first? I have 1 x migro 100 led light.

Turn the migro power right down and hang about 40cm above it or??

    how many hours of light?

    Sorry for a beginner questions.

I'll let someone else comment on the type of light, as for the hours, most go for anything between 18/6 to 24/0. I'm on 24/0 This grow as the temps drop too much during lights out.

hey hows it going buddy, i find T5's works GREAT for the first seedling phase you can keep them super close helps keep the stretch down and keeps the plant nice and green not to sure on the led but i usually dont do anything more then 100W at first then as they grow i put them under a 600W M.H happy growing dude!!

Im using a 135w Led light, I had it 24" above and about 50% power for the first few days but the seedling stretched so I turned up the power and lowered it, seems like the T5 is a great way to start if you can get one. Just keep it good 20-24" away and check on it every few hours, should be okay, Im no pro though

18/6 is quite suitable for you. But watch the reaction of plants, if they do not like them, go to 20/4 and more. The main thing is to react to changes.

Bit late for me to get sorted with a t5.
Right now it is about 30cm above the seedling at 10% power.
@insushin do you think I should increase power then?

i would just play it safe and keep an eye on them if they seem to be stretching to much up the power and move em a touch closer when they seem to stay still and not stretch that will be your sweet spot!

Yeah Id put it on 50% and keep it around 40cm and keep adjusting its height, mine stretched too much but you can bury it deeper when repotting so its not a huge issue, as you monitor it youll get the feel if you need to lower or raise the light.
Im not sure about lighting hours for auto seed but 18/6 is probably ok to start

    Hi again all
So now the plant is out about 1inch and the seed has fallen off.
4 leaves but they look a little shrivelled or crooked ?
The Rockwool is nice and moist, should I still keep my led at 50% and 40cm for the next couple of weeks while the plant gets to the veg state?

    Thanks guys
