That?s really a decision that you need to decide. There are a 1000000 strains that do great with a scrog and coco.... but we will get back to that.

Now before u decide what strains it seems like maybe u need to ask yourself if a scrog is the right option. A scrog is a great way to use as a training tool for plant growth, but they come with some bad sides.

Depending on what size room you have and current setup can be a issue. Coco especially, but any medium requires A LOT of water. I am in a 5x5 tent now with 9 plants and I am giving them close to 8 gallons of water every 3 days. Granted this is soil, but coco just count on that daily (less for you as your only at 4 plants). So once your plants are in the scrog you consider them ?locked in place?. So that means u have to water them from below the canopy, and control all the run off, all from under the plants. This can be solved easily with a proper run off system, and hoses for watering, maybe a drip system.

A proper scrog is also a slow process, and comes with a lot of work. Expect some additional time to fill up your tent for a proper scrog. Also pruning, lst, supercropping, and other training methods are all used. So make sure you are read up on this as it will help you make that solid screen u want.

Not trying to persuade u away from a scrog it?s a wonderful technique, and I have multiple journals with them. But maybe for a first grow not the most optimal option. Just topping and lst are a great way to get a great yield, learn a lot and be able to move your plants as needed.

Back to your original question. Indica or sativa??? Both will do fine for a scrog. Any strain of og I have to recommend. They are easy to grow and do well with the screen. Also if you have time, a strain like darkstar or kush lineage will kill a scrog, with enough time. I?ve scrogged darkstars multiple times and they love it.

However, I know I struggled with lsd, as it wasn?t very hardy. Currently I have some cbd skunk haze and Dutch passion both of which are loving a scrog. I also have seedsmans cali orange, and it doesn?t seem to like the scrog.

You should give us more info on your grow and set up and we can probable point u to the breeder u will want and all that.

My advice would be to grow any strain you fancy, grow it out without scrogging. A test run if you like. Keep notes of how it feeds, how it stretches, how it likes a defol, flowering time etc. Timing that stretch is key.
