So its been a while since Ive updated anything in here so I thought Id talk about re using my Livers soil bed.

So the Sour Livers got chopped and a I cut the stump out with a pair of scissors and backfilled the hole.

I then top dressed with :

    5 tbsp Neem meal
    5 tbsp Kelp meal
    10 tbsp Volcanic rock dust
    2 tbsp mycorr max
And a couple of handfuls of worm castings.

I then gave the bed 2L.of fresh brewed compost tea from the microbulator.

Im not going to plant a cover crop for this bed and Im not going to mulch either, Im just seeing if I can reuse normal verve with a little organic wizardry lol.

There won't be a diary for this experiment but I will update in here from time to time on how the bed does.

I am toying with what to plant but I have this theory, based on what little knowledge I have, that the Sour Livers roots have balanced that soil to suit the plants needs. If I plant the same strain in the soil it should theoretically feel like home to her straight away.

The new roots will behave the same as the old roots and happily follow the same tracks through the soil of the old roots. The old roots now will be slowly decaying organic matter and provide a preformed structure for the new root system. As a final bonus the old roots will act as aeration until they break down fully.

I think using the same strain may be the optimal way of realising the potential of this idea.
