    Default My Organic Journey/soil build

Ok so Redz offered me the red and blue pill and Im off down the rabbit hole. Poor Redz is having his threads hammered by me asking stuff which isnt fair so Im starting this thread.

I plan to build my own soil at the beginning of January and am planning on going as fully organic as I can for the next run after the mentored grow.

I have a recipe from Redz and am learning all I can about organic soil and soil biology (with the available time of course as it would appear we know more about the moon than our soil).

Anyway Ill post stuff as I go and I hope the Talk pitches in and maybe would be happy to chat to me about all this

    Thanks

Where you watching these lectures bud? Wouldn't mind having a watch myself haha. Yeah man, could you imagine the quality of bud grown organically? You could probs alter the ratios and end up with monster crops haha

Check Tad Hussey at canna con or just search for building living soil. Its a good start place for me coz it covers everything briefly but his channel has tons of videos and interviews with organic/canna gurus

    All youtube btw

Haha mate, no not at all. The connection between humans and plants are vital for the plants health. It just shows that you care about them, no shame in that bud.

Will have a gander at YouTube later. Thanks for the mention bud Looking forward to seeing the results

So far my soil recipe is....

    1L Verve
    2L worm castings
    3L moorland gold
    2L perlite
    1L Rice husks
    5 tbsp Kelp meal
    5 tbsp neem meal
    5 tbsp crab meal
    5 tbsp malted barley
    2.5 tbsp Oyster shell flour
    2.5 tbsp Oyster shell crushed
    5 tbsp Gypsum
    10 tbsp Volcanic rock dust

Considering adding 10% biochar and I need to get a worm bin and learn about making aerated compost teas that promote the aerobic microbes.

Feed wise Im not sure but..

    Compost teas
    Molasses
    Top dress crushed malt barley

Living cover crop of white and crimson clover, lupin and buckwheat.

Still not sure when I need dry mulch but Ill suss it.

Why are we doubling calcium with Gypsum and Oyster? I assume the crab is mostly for biome.
