Quick Canna related question about soil moisure. How moist should living soil be? Ive been so used to letting my medium dry out I may be guilty of killing a few million microbes :-(

Sometimes when im wiped id give the girls 500-1000mls and water the next morning. Is that alright? Would using a blumat be more benefial? Living soil & blumats seems like youd be running on autopilot. Only have to change the res every few days?
Hope you don’t mind me sticking my nose in gaz mate, but blumats are the way I reckon but it’s essential to keep the top layer moist at all times otherwise the microbes will die for sure, mulch is your best friend here also.
    Glad shits coming together brother

A blue matt is an.absolute non starter for me mate so Im.going.old skool and doing it by hand and judgement lol.
I will start with a living cover crop and mulch and top dress to keep the microbial life sweet. Well thats the plan anyway lol....

Just spent.£450 quid on the organic garden lol

Pump and ingredients for microbulator (build thread coming for this)
£215 on vermicompost and amendments required for the soil build plus enough amendments for my garden and the 2 200L raised beds Ive bought.

Bought alfalfa and comfrey seeds plus

    Peas
    Parnsip
    Tomatoes
    Lettuce
    Carrots
    Pumpkin (just for halloween)
    Garlic
    Broccoli
    Beetroot
    & Peppers

All ready for the coming years growing in the organic garden.

Worm bin is on its way also,.went for a dual chamber one at 60.quid, with worms.and bits included.

So sure Ive invested a few quid but I fully expect to make tje investment back in the coming years from saving on veg and also no more bottled.nutes.or soil will be bought now. I have enough good organics compost for this soil build which I have bought and that will do 3 runs, by which time my worm bin and compost.system should be good.to produce.10 litres of banging worm castings for me to build my next soil. I will be putting neem meal and kelp meal directly into the worm bin so I wont be adding them into the next soil build and Im hoping over time to find the sweet spot for my own organic soil blend.

Ok so loads happening over the next few weeks

    Exciting times

    Mon the organics
