    Question Anyone got any ideas?

Hey guys, so my little lady has had these issues since pretty much her first set of leaves and has continued to get worse, new growth doesnt seem immediately effects but as it grows definitely is. So any input or suggestions from your knowledgable lot would be greatly appreciated.

    Photo or Auto: Auto fem

plant age: 24 days above ground

    pot size: 5L

has it been repotted? and when?: Nope

soil type: B&Q Verve 70/30 perlite mix, and a sprinkling of mycorrhizal fungi

nutes or additives used and how often for soil: Plain bottled water (apparently 6.8ph at source? only additives are Mycorrhizal Fungi and Perlite, Not fed her any nutes thus far

    Air temps (max min): 28?C / 22?C

    Res temps (max min): N?A

    humidity: 55% - 66%

lighting type and wattage (hps, led, cfl): DIY led strip build

    Light schedule: 24/0 for the past 5 - 7 days 21/3 before

    ph level: No pen

EC (hydro and coco only): No pen

    Background EC: No pen

feed schedule and nutes (for hydro and coco): N/A

u got good root spread using such a long pot, but if the soil is very dry around the sides or bottom the roots simply die back
the leaves can't feed because there is no moisture for it

roots spread out so all the soil should be moist not just the centre, then let it dry out as normal
wet/dry cycle, roots won't grow or survive in dry soil

i use a watering can nozzle to spread out the water,
i feel this is an under watering problem that's affected certain growth,

the plant looks healthy because there's probably sufficent water in the middle but not the sides
that's just what i see looking at her, healthy but under watered, Soil should never get 100% dry,

a bit of extra water and your golden buddy!

    better add ''jmo''

Cheers dude, yeah with the space I have, a long rather than square pot was my only real option but hopefully I can make full use of it.

Yeah that does make sense, however this problem pretty much started as soon as the first true leaves appeared

I also get run off of maybe 50-100ml if I water 1L, with 5/600 ml I get a little run off so I assumed the soil was already pretty moist lower down, but I will try paying more attention to the sides whilst watering now though. See if it changes anything.

Looking at the deficiency charts I did think it could be a zinc problem or maybe even a cal-mag issue as a few people seem to get them with led grows?

    Anyone else have any input?

the roots spread out from day 1, if that soil ever dried out the root simply dies back, so does the leaf if was feeding
i understand the whole ''over watering problem'' but under watering is just as bad if not worse,

water the whole pot slowly as you can mate, let it dry to about 30%-40% of it's total wet weight and repeat
any peat based soil if let dry out becomes water repellent and water just runs straight threw it mate vs soaking it up

hence the 'water slowly as you can'

    --added
mg is mostly used during flower, in coco they really need it, in soil not so much
i've a 500ml bottle of cal/mg haven't used 5ml in a whole year, soil needs aren't the same as coco

Totally agree with M E on this yen brother i had a similar experience with one of my girls a while back because the soil had shrunk back away from the pot around the edges and the water was just running down the sides so i pushed the edges down and now water very slowly as M E says all the best brother, G'.

any soil that's mostly peat based should never totally dry out,
it becomes water repellent and a total nightmare to water

my soil is only 20% peat thankfully

A wetting agent or a dollop of glycerin in the water will eventually break through those water-repellent soil.

30% is about the most I'll do with peat. I let some basil get too dry in 60% peat. Man, what a pain to rehydrate.

have seen 80% peat, id plant cutting or start seeds with it since it's got great aeration
i wouldn't grow in it though,

think that's all it's for, seedlings or clones
