What's up with this bud ?

On my plant which has now been trimmed, I had a bud that was dying and drying out few days before trimming, it was the only one on the plant and even buds on the same branch right below it were fine, I'm gussing it isn't smokeable but any ideas what happened here
I'm curios to know, one of the pictures isnit next to a bud that is fine

Have you looked inside it for bud rot mate?

Money on bud rot sadly. If it is you'll need to check the rest the buds under a loupe for more mold / cobweb style and stuff

It is bud rot just had a check then, check other buds all seem to look fine, because of that bud dying a look the plant down abit ealier than I would have but I knew something was up, thanks what causes bud rot ? Something do with the roots or stress or what ?

Got water on the buds
Poor air circulation
Not enough defoliation
Plants too cramped

the first sign of bud rot is a few leaves on the actual buds turning yellow almost overnight,
The base of these leaves is where the bud is rotting,

another good reason to try and keep your girls from prematurely ''yellowing''

As others have said, looks like mould. My best mate recent took down a crop and spotted some on the 5th day so turned a heater on in the room to help dry it quicker. I don't bother using a temp reader, I have a feel for it and can read the plants. When it comes to drying though I like to have one in the tent so I can be sure where I'm at in temp and humidity. Say that as my mate said the drying room he was using was really cold this time of year so probably would have been staying too wet is what I was thinking. Thankfully I have never had it in my years of growing.

Yeaa it was Mould I had a look with the loupe, I binned that bud any way I checked over some other buds and they looked fine but I'm not sure which buds were close to the one the had bud rot, so for instance if there is another bud the has caught mould will it still show signs even tho they are drying ? I'm going to keep a close eye on them when drying and I'm just making sure none of the buds are touching whilst drying even tho I'm not sure if it can spread to other but they do look fine

they get infected on the inside so it's not always visable damage,
if your other buds had no yellowing leaves they should be fine,

can always clip em open and have a good look for peace of mind
