If you’re using mineral fertiliser I would suggest getting an ec pen so you can know how much your feeding whether in soil or not, also if you have problems you can measure the ec of your run off to know how much food is in your medium etc I wouldn’t use any non organic food without one.

For instance just water and rhizo takes it to about 8.9-9. Adding bio silicon takes it well over 9.
So I drop them down a touch to about 7.5ish

I’d tried looking online at the water quality in my area, but not much available info.
I think at a hard water sea judging by what t does to my kettle though!

The soil should buffer that no problems mate, drop the acid out, you don't need it

Is the organic nutes when you don’t need to flush due to salt build up?
If so that sounds like a bit of an easier route to take.

    Cheers thc!! Cracking place help!

Was your ph high as well then mate?
I always thought if it was too high it could caused some lock out??

Earlier when mixing for my 4 baby photo plants I used 2.5ml rhizo per litre and 0.5ml bio silicon per litre and it took my ph to 9.5.
Would the soil still filter that you think?

It probably can for a while but with out amending the soil it wont buffer that forever. The capacity of the soil to buffer pH depends on...

    1. Clay content and type (texture)
    2. Organic matter content
    3. Oxide components
    4. Carbonate content
    5. Initial pH
    6. Weatherable mineral content

My argument would be that continually asking the soil to buffer high pH will eventually wear out the soils capacity unless you are amending the soil with fresh buffers.

Well at least thats how I understand it mate

Id be lowering pH as well mate if my inputs were 9.5

Apologies but me saying "it wont" is a little strong lol maybe its better to say that with out knowing the capacity of the soil and whats in it, it will be impossible to say IMO how big that buffer capacity is and how long it will last.

To be honest mate I wouldn’t attempt it without ph’ing it down first either.
It just seems like a lot of un needed pressure on the soil and could eventually cause the soils ph to rise anyway.

Thank for all the help as well mate
