Default My 80×80×160 setup, what do you think?

    Hi everyone,
first off thanks for the amazing welcome, you've made me feel like this is a great place to hang out with lots of support and kind words

I've been doing a bit of research and decided NOT to go for one of the many all in one kits that are available, I'd rather spend more and have a setup I can develop. I'm limited on space and so decided to go for a 80x80x160 tent (9 plants?). Below is the rest of the setup any comments or advice and brand names would be gratefully accepted before I go shopping

Tent - big bud 80x80x160 (white inner not mylar) 54 cubic feet = 168cfm
    Total - £100

Fan - 6" rvk (430m3/hour) to run at 50% for noise?
    filter - 6" rhino pro
swift air fan controler (with temp sensor)
    DIY sound proof box
    Total - £200

    Passive outside air intake

Seedlings light - homemade 50w cfl to get my girls going

Light - 400w with ballast (and timer) dimmable / bigger bulb?
    Bulbs - mh and hps
    Reflector - shinny (hi-par)600mm parabolic?
    Total - £200

Plus - Green house bar heater?, Co2 (ball) extinguisher (just in case), humidifier
    20 total - £70

What do you think? Massive over kill lol

I'll be asking about soil or rdwc in my next post as I'm sure that's a whole other can of worms - want to get the environment right first

Thanks for taking a look x

Looks good to me mate. 6 inch might be overkill. I run a 4 inch since its very quiet. Also own a 5inch but my controller isnt compatible so isnt in use.

As for lights id pick LEDs. Save you money, no bulb changes for years and give cracking results. My space is 75x50. I just ran 3 autos and yielded 300g. Dont need anything bigger :-)

    Mate

Sounds good I grow in the same size tent. If you’re starting out look at short strains until you’re up to speed on training your plant just an error I made a couple of times and watching the plants burn on the light is a killer lol

Good luck and get a dairy going for help along the way

Hi mc - I thought 9 plants in possibly 10l rdwc with a short veg (depending on how they grow) looking for 250 - 300g which I think is realistic

Hi wwbb - year looking at northern lights for my first go, but I'd hate to harkari my girls on the lights lol

Hi uptown - in honesty I don't think I've got the head room or money for a really good led, I'd love to make my own setup (cobs) and qb's look good - maybe next time but I'll take another look

TBH, I'm not even sure 9 empty 10L RDWC pots would fit in there never mind with plants in them...

I would put just 2 plants in that tent, with a good training maybe 3. And it would be hard to fit in the hps and the 6" filter and rvk unless you be using them outside the tent where filter inversed...

Nice setup! I'd put 4 3 gallon plants in there though the math says 3 would be better. Im guessing the 9 plants was calculating a 1 square footprint. 18x18" is probably closer to accurate for a semi trained plant.

Hi jj, I was going to put the fan on the outside in a sound proof box, the filter should fit in the space next to/above the parabolic - it'll be tight but should fit (I'll recheck my dimensions )

As to the plants I was thinking sog, with a screen because for my first go I figure, I'll kill/stunt half my plants, some will be taller than others so some very gentle training to try and even out the canopy and I wanted to use regs so I'll lose a few to being male - maybe I should just go for fems
