    Default Driver Heat Q

Got 2 265, one with the driver on top of tent on some wood and one with the driver on top of the light, Just tested it all and it gets quite hot on the light is that a bad place to put it? Pretty sure i have seen pics with peoples on their light. The one on the wood was a lot cooler. Already talked to the support about it and they said about hanging it on a S hook or something but just wanted to see what others do.

I put my driver on top of the light and it got very hot so i placed a 6" clip on fan blowing onto driver and light and it cooled them both right down, i too have seen pics where other people run the driver on top of the light so was thinking that was the norm' G'.

Drivers will run all day long at 80 degrees without lifting an eyelid ( 95 is absolute limit )

Best not to install on the light however

we advise not having them on the heatsinks as it makes them hotter.

I have the smallest board (ISH120 with the 60W driver), the board doesn't have a heatsink and I've seen pictures of people putting the driver on top of the board but this seemed like a bad idea to me.
Since I'm working with a fridge I didn't want to screw the driver directly against the insulated wall and was lucky to have a nice thick heat sink laying around so I put that between the driver and fridge wall, right under my extraction filter as well and now it barely even heats up.
My circulation fan is hanging half above my board blowing half the air down to my plants and the other half over the board so that adds some cooling as well and brings some of the heat down to my plants.
