    Sounds like these circa 500w QB boards create a lot more heat.

    After a visit to the local hydro store I’ve gone in full circle and reconsidering HPS after seeing how cheap they are now.

    Air cooled hoods, fans, filters, Digi ballasts seem a lot cheaper now than 8 years ago.

    I’m still drawn to LED though. I think I just like new toys!

    Mars 400 pulls 200w so around 40% of any 500w light

    I do like double ended 400v hps, not too bad efficiency

    I'm currently running my HPS at 150w & have no issues with low temps....

    I do actually have another LED to try (I've had it for about 18 month now...Oops!), so I will be on your case (if I get around to using it!) when I use it
