or do you think i should get a load of smaller 50w bulbs and place then on the top bottom and sides??
The 250 will be fine
Position it above your plantsDont forget you need a blue for vegging and red to flower with if you sticking with them and not changing to hps
wr
ive heard about the blue and red spectrum lights... does that mean i have to buy two lights??
i was going to use other types of lights, but i heard that they can be real dangerous!!!
If you are going to use Envirolites then you will need to buy a blue spectrum for veg & a red spectrum for Flowering.
If you were to go with a HPS setup you could use one bulb, the grolux produces light across the spectrum needed at all stages of growth. But ..
HPS do give off a lot more heat so you need to take that into account when sorting out ventilation.
currently greens dont stock a red spec bulb in 250W so you'd really need to by a
200W red spec enviro lamp as well as the 250W budget lamp, like this one:
http://www.greenshorticulture.co.uk/...cat=122&cat=95
but that would be ok as you could double up the 250W lamp and the 200W red one for really good results!
Sodiums aren't dangerous at all, unlike Mercury Vapour lamps which can cause sun burn and eye inflammation if not functioning correcty!!
but as MT says if your in a tight space you'll need ventilation![]()
