Was it hung on bungees previously? Usually they absorb the vibration

Yea, I'm looking at this today and tomorrow

I've got a 5" fan and Rhino filter and after seeing the size of the filter it won't fit in my tent LOL

So I thought I'd build a 'double box' for the filter and fan - and put it in the loft, running a pipe down to the tent.

I've got an old Duvet to sound proof the fan, but I'm wondering if it's OK to run a 68mm drainpipe from my tent, up into the loft space and connect it to the filter end of the box?

Will this work, or will it cause to much resistance for the fan?

Pretty sure you'll need to swap the fan and filter around so the fan sits between the tent and filter.
I don't know if using smaller ducting will overwork the fan too much, it may increase the noise made by the moving air tho as I know doing the opposite decreases the air speed and volume made by it.

That's how mine looks in the box. Ignore the red fan, it's not plugged in. You can't see it but there's a vent behind the filter to allow the air pushed through the filter to go somewhere.

    Hi Silk, how's it going?

That's what mine sort of looks like. The fan would be in it's own chamber so I can sound proof it with an old duvet.

I thought it was better to pull air through a filter before the fan?

Ah... I think I see what you mean. So we look at the ducting and filter box as an extension of the tent... So no ductings actually attached to the filter? If you you may need to overwork the fan as a lot of pressure will be lost I think.
The filter can only be attached by one end so I'd duct from the tent to the fan and duct, or better yet, directly attach the filter to the fan so it sucks from the tent and blows out of the filter. I used the filter sleeve to cover the extract duct in the tent to stop crap getting to the filter and fan... And considering how dirty it's gotten, I'd say that's a pretty important bit to remember to do

Yes, The ducting to filter and fan is an extension of the tent.

I thought that would be the most efficient and logical way to do it.

I think I'm going to have to go with my original idea and use 5" ducting to reduce the resistance so the fan can focus on pulling (or pushing) air through the filter.

    This'll make you laugh

Just gone and rechecked all my measurements (for the tenth time) and I can't vent UP - lol such a dck

So, I've had another look and the only option is DOWN with a 90 degree flat elbow into 204 x 60mm flat ducting.

The idea is to run the ducting from the top of the tent down through the floor to the filter and fan box.
