Default 600w hps dual spec grow - Sweet Seeds 3 Green poison 3 Mohan ram

right so this is the second grow I've done finished my first grow 3 weeks ago, grew 3 nothern light autos from sensi seeds under a 600w meizhi led (277 true watts) managed 8 ounces from it which I was very surprised and happy with lool

this second time i have decided to use a 600w dual spectrum hps light and see how it goes.

    equipment I am using:

    1mx1mx2m mars tent
Black orchid cool tube reflector (temp was too high without it)
    600w dual spec omega bulb
    lumii dimmable ballast
    5" Ox carbon filter
5" cheap intake fan of eBay
    6" draper fan
    Plant magic supreme organic soil
    oldtimers bloom and pk 4/8
    15l fabric pots
    electriQ 12l dehumidier for flower
    ram humdier for veg

also have a back up tent just incase it gets too bushy and not breathable in there haha but we will see what happens

on sweet seeds website says they are ready from germination In 8 weeks so I am assuming it will he more likely 9 or 10, in the pictures below the plants are 19 days old and all seems to be loving the light this time round I'm really gonna try and use up all the space I got so I am lsting as much as I can (as you can see in photos lots of tops tied right down haha). I had 8 in there to start with and picked the best 6, current temps are 25.6 - 28.6c and humidity currently is around 60 - 67%, light is hung at about 20 inches from the tops, I have read online with a cool tube I could get them closer maybe? wanted to ask on here before moving any closer, the light is dimmed to 400w for now and will be increased to 600w when flower begins.
another question I need to ask is some of the tops seems a bit floppy is this normal?

pictures are below the first 3 pictures are the 3 green poison and the second 3 are the mohan ram. the 2nd last photo I thought i would mention it started growing really strange from the get go with its fan leaves growing as one which I thought was a bit odd but already lost of nice looking tops.

as I said this my first hps grow so any pointers will be much appreciated and I will keep this post updated through the grow.

    sorry for long post haha

Looking nice there Ryan. Not sure about the floppy tops. I have never tried to veg under HPS before. I believe I read that the UV in many other lights contribute to solid stems and HPS I believe is a bit lacking in the UV.

The rapid growth might have something to do with it. Mine tend to grow really slow and solid. Probably overdoing my lighting in the early stages.

to optimize your veg you really need a metal halide bulb but a duel will still do the job but not as well as mH,
your first grow was great ryan so will tag along mate

    best of luck 2u

thanks mate wouldn't of got through the first grow without the talk haha, I got this bulb was given to me with a bunch of other stuff that wasn't being used, reckon I should get under this and then use the dual spec for flower?? and is the heat given off by them more or less or the same as a dual spec??

Be a bit wary of the distance with the Mh bulb especially if it's brand new
They run a lot hotter than me hps
I have to have mine no closer to the plant than 14 inches
Even though back of my hand feels ok i still got some light bleaching and twisting as the leaves were still drying out a bit too quick even with good air flow
    Atb

alright mate thanks pretty sure it's been used for a few grows but il have to check with the friend who gave me it, I had the light at about 17 inches but I could see a bit of twisting on the leafs and some felt a bit dry so moved it up to 20 last night
