Default Rust on grow tent poles .

Hi guys hope your all good .

So after a good grow last year , ow it all to the peeps on here for there help and support !!!

I was thinking about doing another grow .
But when I had a look inside the tent the poles have got white and brown rust on them.
I was cleaning them with water and bleach and had something come up so I had to leave In a hurry. This was a few months ago .

It’s a big tent but all the poles have different amounts of rust on

Not shorenif a good clean with bleach and wipe down would be good enough?
Of will the humidity in growing cause the mood to come back .

Any ideas what I should do would be great .

How bad is the rust ? Any pictures

I'm no expert I had abit of rust in my dishwasher I got it off with vinegar and just used tin foil to scrub it off with just so it didn't scratch as much as a cleaning cleaning scourer, might be able to remove as much as you can and cover it with some kind of spay. I don't think bleach will help remove rust to be fair but I know vinegar can

Someone will probably have better idea as I don't know if that will stop the rust or what not it just a little idea I thought of

If it's just a bit of surface rust then I would just clean it off & forget about it

The white stuff is the galvanised coating oxidizing, if you're a bit ocd about the rust, Farecla (you can buy in toothpaste type tubes now too) is the stuff but if its already eaten into the steel its past saving

Yup just give it a clean with white vinegar and it'll be fine I reckon. There is this stuff called ACF-50 that's also really good at eating rust and it keeps the metal protected for up to 12 months. I use it on my motorbike with good results but whether you want this stuff in a grow room is up to you.

I'd probs make sure it's all bone dry and just tape up the rusty poles so no condensation gets back in n starts rusting again
