It is true that marijuana can cause mental illness and psychosis but so can almost anything if not used in moderation. It should be common sense or knowledge to know this but i guess not. I also know that the media will spin a story that benefits them. So instead of saying " heavy use of strong cannabis can in rare cases cause psychosis or mental problems" they will say "cannabis causes psychosis". People need to be able to decide for themselves what the difference is from "just right" and "too much". Their is a war going on for your mind!

Its kind of hard for a population to protect itself when you have foger trucks driving through neighborhoods while kids are playing in the clouds. My grandfather was a farmer and I distinctly remember the state Ag rep telling me that spraying would be easy allowance.

That was in the 80's, I couldn't have been more than 11.

When cannabis is labeled as an alternative to mood stabilizers and routinely prescribed for anxiety and panic attacks you WILL get people seeking it that are on the bi or schizotypical spectrum. Personal responsibility is important but I just left a dudes house that think angels talk to him anytime the clock shows a double digit number on it.

When that is the reality of the people we are talking about casual calls for "personal responsibility" is little more than an easy excuse to walk away from the problem. In the states we have used that exact excuse to shatter our society.

Or those who are predisposed to mental illness gravitate towards a psychoactive drug...
It's Not What You Know, It's What You Can Prove

I find it all hilarious,my son has bpd border line personality disorder...I've mention before the horrors behind the prescribed drugs by the NHS for my son ...depecote cataiapin lithium ect all will cut my sons life by a third...he don't take any meds anymore after a member of his team (OF THE RECORD ) suggested he try cannabis instead ...and yes the irony is if he'd have been a smoker of weed whilst going thru his diagnosis period 14-21 yrs they would have automatically pointed the finger at weed being the root cause...

I wonder how many folk who work in mental health go home each night after prescribing and administering lethal mood stabilising drugs ,and roll a joint ...I bet it's more than we would think imho
