I did not flush as much as leech, but I’m in RDWC so don’t know how it translates to you soil or coco guys.

But I basically start 2 weeks before chop, start my final nutes (shogun fertilisers - dragon force) I start them at 0.9EC and let this run down to 0.3EC over the first 7 days of the flush, this is done with not adding any nutes and also flushing out a little nutrient water and replacing it with clean water.

Once I’m down to about 0.3EC I just let it finish.

I PH the water everyday still. My system also has an auto top up of water, so dilution of the nutrient solution is easy.

Thanks to all for the replies. I am sorry the poll was not clear or perhaps not enough options.

The post was intended for hydroponics growing although it was interesting to hear soil and cocoa growers input.

Myself I have mostly always flushed soil and hydroponics. Only when the plants had to be emergency cut for reason s out of my control have they been not flushed.

In those times I noticed that the bud had a little bit of trouble staying lit. Maybe because the whole process was rushed. I can't say for sure if it is the nutes or just needed more dry time.

I am excited to try the taper off method. I would do the opposite in my grows they usually gets stronger dose of nutes as my last push before I flush.

Wondering if I can improve flavor with this tapering flush.
    My grow diary.

I document so when pounds are found they know who grew it. 10 ounce store bought limit. No limit on what you can have from your home harvest as long as you can prove you green it. So here go.

i just taper off the nutes n water till runoff in soil last few weeks n let then go dry before harvest
each to thier own tho, some swear by it n others say its a fad! but the general consensus is ya cant take out whats already in the plant! just what remains in the substrate.

badly cured n full of salts/nutes burns harsh as hell n leaves black ash smokes god awful too!

side note anybody test hash by burning a pinhead sized ball on a metal surface, if it catches the flame after a few seconds and burns clean it will leave a white chunk with amber oil residue surrounding it, its quality stuff, on the flipside if it takes an age to catch the flame burns black , smells like plastic n leaves a smudgy grey ash n no oily ring youve bad stuff! and old dutch hashish smuggler taught me this

I get whit ash from just picking A small bud to sample. If you are growing in Organic, Cure or no cure, the weed smokes very well.

I went with flush ,however I've also chopped without flush when I grew in soil ..at the end of the day the way I see it is flush is better than no flush and happens at the very end of the cycle so if we've taken the plants this far (months) why not see the job through properly..Im speaking from me growing in coco mind
