    Default White Spots

Right full panic mode this morning Breathe and type breathe and type :P On two plants I noticed little white spots on a lot of the leafs that have appeared over night. Now I rubbed it slightly with a damp finger and these spots do vanish. I will try take photos later.

A quick search revealed a few possibilities (there may be more!). Spidermites or powdery mildew seem to look a bit like it. However.. I am grasping at straws here... I splashed the plant with nutrient water last night by accident!... Could it just be salt after evaporation as it wipes off... I can hope can't I?!

For the moment, I am off out later might try get to garden center for some spray (neem oil seems a good one) and magnifying glass.

I know it isn't much for you guys to go on at the moment and I will fill out the infirmiry template when I get home (I didnt want to post in the sick plants as I am too much of a noob to do that :P)

    Cheers CC

Salt residue is a possibility. Get some photos up and we can offer opinions.

Right so not only do my grow skills need work, my photography skills also need to be developed.... Ordered some neem oil and a tiny macro lens for a fiver to try on the end of the phone... not expecting much from the latter! Thought I would show you the pictures anyway! No worries if you cant help with the poor quality.

Very difficult to see mate, however, if you're saying they vanish when you wipe them then the spots themselves shouldn't be caused by pests since any damage thrips/mites do that leave white spots cannot be wiped away that's for sure.

Sorry I can't be more of help but anything else would be a wild guess at this point, salt residue is a possibility for sure as CityDweller pointed out and you did say you splashed the leaves by accident with nutrients so it could very well be just that. Keep your eye on it for sure.

Will do! Thank you for taking the time to look and respond I wasn't prepared either way so at least I can get myself ready for the dreaded curse, if (more like when!) it appears.

I would wipe off all the spots and watch close to see if they come back. It could possibly by white powdery mildew. I never had salt residue look like that.

Have a read here. Might as well put the neem to good use and keep pests away!

Hey guys, well there doesn't seem to be any more white spots! However better safe than sorry so will still carry out some stuff anyway when it arrives. Thank you for all the advice. I read the last link last night and ordered a couple more bits for a foliage spray.
