Ive not heard this before but could be a useful blunt tool,

Alot of gardeners ect say a good rule of thumb on mites is (quick moving= good mite, slow moving=bad mite).
Probably not the most scientific but there you go lol with out a PhD in entomology its bloody impossible to tell what the critters are lol

As in the picture is max zoomed so when I picked up the pit there was soil on my hand that has transferred onto the edge of the pot so in the pictures the black still around the mite is soil , the mite is completely tiny and pure white

Id still adopt a pest management routine as a habit, weekly spray downs of neem oil and water, emulsified with horticultural soap or soapnuts, during veg and up until flower.

I suggest some action of some kind at any rate.. my advice is probably quite vanilla and a little vegan and there other more nuclear options available if you are worried.

Look pretty big to me. Spider mites are less than 1mm and need x10 lens to see them

I'd have to agree with Herbitual on this one...looks like an Aphid (baby one).

Looks like a aphid to me to and the first thing I’d do Is order lacewing larvae let them deal with the problem then start a ipm, blast it with just water for now as a knock down.
Two spotted spider mites are fuckers but the ones we don’t ever want to start hearing of hear are russet or cyclamen mites! So keep up your ipm
The good guys are hypoapsis miles
