Thread: Series wiring

    Default Series wiring

A question for Invisible sun/Gardo or anyone else who can answer.

Tommorow I'd like to wire up my boards but first I'd like to know if my illustration matches that of series wiring. I've used the invisible sun led guide to assist me with this. I just found it a wee bit hard to understand that I'm wiring the positives to the negatives

Does my diagram look right enough ?

If this is correct.... does it matter which colour of wire I use to match the positives to negatives?

    Cheers guy's

    Excellent... What a boost.

And I believe it doesn't matter what colour the wire is that I route the + & - to. ?

You can use pink with green spots if you wish

Reason red & black are used is for easy identification, fault finding and to avoid confusion...as long as the wires don't get mixed up on the way to the next terminal...all good

Pretty sure you cant get pink with green spots anyway

    Heres what HLG specify

Board uses Molex Lite-Trap connector 104188-0110 rated max 300V AC (RMS)/DC and 9A with 18 AWG wire.18-24 AWG Solid (recommended) or 20-22 AWG Strand Wire.

Id always use solid core as recommended and strip the wire insulation as below. Best to get the wire right first time and insert once. Never pull on that plastic tab ( labelled push in pic) as you will destroy the connector.

I wired the boards up incorrectly..... which meant I had to release the wire by carefully pushing down on the connector. And no matter how much I try i can't get the fucking wire to release.

Even tried using a matchstick and that doesn't work either.
