    Default Footprint

I have a 1000w unbranded led panel. Question is will the footprint of the light span burn my plants in a 1m x 1m x 2m high tent?
I read different starting measurements some say 18-22 inches others suggest 30 inches plus.
Normally I use the back of my hand to judge heat with hid lights but it's harder with led as I hear the light can burn leaves even if it feels reasonably cool under it?

I think it's going to be trial and error....Start high and lower it gradually till you find a sweet spot.

Hey Canna! If its the grow light you were talking about in your greeting I think you are going to need to get the wattage draw of it first. After you have that you can do some calculating to get a good idea at where to start at for distance.

What he said but minimum 18 inches as a rule, 22 to be safe until you figure things out.

I dont think I'll go lower than 18 in fairness. Altered heights all over the place as high as 38" ish
Then as said watts/power would play a major part too.

Why can the 2 major online auction sites not have a great big shed down the road dammit?!

Figure out the actual luminosity of your room, using a cheap photometer works well. This will tell you how much actual light that your plants will be getting, and you can measure in all areas of the room as well as well as how high for the best/optimum light level. You can raise or lower the LEDs as needed or as the plants respond. Don't get them too close or they will bleach, which is different than a burn... but the end result is the same. Unbranded panels can be good to use, but the amount of uniform light distribution is important, so that you get as much light at the edges of the room/tent as you do at the middle. Good Luck!!
