Default Strain naming / lineage listing standards

When creating a new strain do you list pollen plant x female seed host?

I know you can name it anything but.

I.e. a Northern lights male crossed with a skunk female would be listed as northern lights x skunk.

Not skunk x northern lights. Which would imply skunk pollen on a northern lights female.

I document so when pounds are found they know who grew it. 10 ounce store bought limit. No limit on what you can have from your home harvest as long as you can prove you green it. So here go.

Female x Male is the appropriate way to name.

Example, northern lights female x skunk male = northern skunk

Interesting I would of thought the other way would be the standard. Patriarchal society would dictate otherwise I thought. Alrrigty ladies first then.

In the natural world when animals cross breeds ie lions and tigers it's the male first female second. Hence a tigon is m Tiger f lion. A liger is a m lion f tiger. I'd name any plants this way too, the m first
