    Default Digital microscope.

    NoI picked up a digital microscope from the Amazon. I was a bit of a frig to get the thing working but I gut some snaps.

    About 3 weeks into flower.

    This was about the lowest setting, I'd like increase the magnification but can't get it the shaking under control in the tent.

    Yup, 30 bones Canadian was well worth it. Funny though, I was hoping this would help me figure out when to harvest. Problem is I'm not finding alot of information about CBD strains. I've seen some people saying 10% Amber, clear, cloudy, and/or the hairs are red and so on. But, that all seems to be for THC dominant strains. I'm just not sure if using trichomes to determine when to harvest is the same for THC and CBD?

    That is a VERY good point you're making Cancangrower, what a very interesting point you have just brought up!! hmmmm, I'll be thinking about this one for a while.

    From everything I've read previously when trichomes are clear, they do contain CBD..and we need to allow the trichomes to reach cloudy/amber stages for the THC to develop and increase, but with these CBD strains if we allow them to reach cloudy/amber is the CBD content also increasing or is it best to harvest when clear?

    I do not have the anwser to this mate but you've brought up a very thought provoking point and I would be very keen to see other opinions on this!

    After googling a little I'll share what I found here with you mate ;

    This is from a Dinafem representative who also was asked this very same question regarding some of their CBD strains, (although it can't really be seen as a 100% definitive answer)..they apparently ran tests and this was the answer given ;

    As I think I've said before we have noticed that CBD is at its highest peak just before the trichomes start to degrade and become Amber. This is constant across all strains tested so for now the best time to harvest high CBD strains for the highest CBD levels is just before your trichomes start to Amber up
    Hope it helps

    So in this case based on some tests they made, it's actually not a good idea to allow them to get to amber, instead harvesting just before that happens is ideal!
