    Default Foxtailing??

When reading different diaries and grow reports I see people talking about foxtailing.

    What is foxtailing?

    What causes foxtailing?

    Is it good or bad?

It's when the bud sites start piling up more and more bud on top of maturing bud and maturing THC. For me that is A good thing, for some they seem to think that more bud at that stage in the life of the bud, is degrading. Doesn't have time to development mature THCa
before harvest. Even if it doesn't, it doesn't really make that much difference, but does give you more bud than you would have had. JMO

    This is foxtailing

Heat & genetics seem to be the main cause...

Good or bad? The jury is out

It's also the plants way of extending her footprint to greater the chance of catching pollen and can happen when ya pushing a plant to the very end of her life.
If she's Fox tailing it's time to edge ya bets and get ready for the chop . Ya take her a bit further and your almost guaranteed to get banners.
Some strains are famous for it the exo likes to fox tail .

The current definition of Foxtailing in the States is when the buds begin to get wispier at the very end of their lives. It isn't too desirable for most growers, who prefer to have the hard nuggets. The tip of the bud tends to spread out a little, much like a fox's tail looks, as opposed to a tight nugget. In my opinion, it isn't too big of a deal except to the extreme purists who insist on harvesting when the cloudy Trichomes/Amber Trichomes ratio changes to .0975%, or some stuff like that. It is more of an aesthetic issue than anything, but some folks are purists that insist on having the ultimate bud and turn their nose up to anything but perfection.
Other definitions might exist, but it isn't a desirable trait if you are a perfection grower. Myself...who knows? I like Foxes!

Funny you say that....last few grows of mine have been GHS exodus cheese. All had at least one plant that foxtailed.
Beautiful looking plant so it was. Great smoke too.

Perfect example of foxtailing right there

This is on my current grow and is more than likely down to the temps reaching 40°ish the other week!

Just checked trichs and majority clear with a couple cloudy making an appearance but i reckon theyve got 3 week left so should be nice...

Keeping my fingers crossed they dont hermie on me
