    Default First grow help

Hi, this is my first grow. Northern lights autoflower. I put it in wet paper towels on 5/30, tap root showed and was put in dirt on 6/1. I’ve had it under 2 bright white cfl’s since. It popped out of the soil 2 days after it was put in. I have it in fox farms ocean forest. I plan on moving it into a tent with a 450w led in the next few days. I’m concerned about the yellowing on the first set of true leaves though. Is my light too close?

    Thanks

I feel your pain brother, I was where you are about 7 weeks back. The first 3-4 weeks are the hardest. I don't know what might be causing your issue, but someone on here does. Read lots, listen lots, expect some issues and don't get discouraged. lastly, and most importantly, enjoy the grow.

Fox Farms soils are pretty hot out of the bag, this might be partially responsible for what you are seeing. Since the plants are still tiny, I would let them continue without dumping anything on them, other than water. Some strains are OK with FF stuff, some aren't. From what I can tell, things look pretty good for the most part. Once the plant get stronger and develops a strong root system, it will make better use of those extra nutes in the FF soil. If you have concerns about being too close to the cfl, moving it back wouldn't hurt anything

Thanks for the suggestions! Light was around 5 inches from the plant and I moved it up to about 10 inches today.

Check out my Diary Hank, this is with my 900/220W Bloom Buster. I can get this as close as 12" during flowering.

    How's your humidity mate?
To me it's one of the biggest issues with seedlings
Anything under 40% and you'll get leaf distortion like that
Only way for the lplant to take in moisture is through its leaves until the roots get going

I’ll check out the diary. I don’t know the humidity off hand, but the seedling is covered with a clear plastic dome. It looks a little better now that I moved the light up some. I’ll continue to keep an eye on it. I’m waiting for my tent to come in and once I have that I’ll be able to control the humidity a lot better.
