Itslittyofc yeah back in the day that grasslin was considered one of the best, times change mate.

Grasslin are a major manufacturer & have been making timers for years & years...MAYBE even make the plug & grow stuff but brand differently...nothing wrong with Grasslin as long as rated 13A...all good

Oh absolutely, wasn't saying it's no good Itslittyofc..as said it's been highly rated over the years, but since I'm looking to buy a new one then I'll go with the ones that are being recommended at the moment is all

Plug & Grow is rated at 22 amps a 600w ballast will draw around 9 amps at start up so yeah got a decent contact relay built in..

The Plug & grow will last longer than any of the other timers posted as contacts are rated for 22A, all others are rated at 13A so over time, arc currents will degrade the brass surface of the contacts and render timer useless. Using with the contactor posted by Sad will only increase lifetime as current is then switched by contactor instead

Best option is both timer & contactor
