honestly this method has only gotten 6/8 seeds to pop and 3/5 seeds to pop hoping after i put the seeds that didnt pop in soil that more then 3 will pop out from now on ill just use the paper towl method

Exactly what I do

Simon from Serious seeds said to put a wet paper towel in a plastic sandwich bag, put the seeds in and hang the bag on the wall.
When the seeds sprout, the tap roots naturally head towards the ground instead of wiggling around and searching for the downward pull of the earth.

the way i've always germinated my seeds with a very good success rate is put some clean water (not tap water) in a glass, but the seeds in and place it in a dark space for 24 hours, or until the seeds drop.. always worked

It doesn't have to show a root or sign of one after the 24hrs in water does it? I got mine to sink after 12 hours. after 24 total I put in in the paper towel.
