Well a pal dropped off a big bag of trim. I've made butter for him before (he supplied trim and we split the end result 50/50). I'd told him how to make it after the last time and he was going to make it himself but he never quite got round to it. Which is nice

I'm 43 and do still love a cookie/brownie/sweet munchy etc etc. Mind, the Mrs makes them. If it were just me I'd be slathering it on my toast

I'd not bother with anything else - just eat the butter straight - healthiest way to do it.

Hmm butter just got a whole lot healthier! Have to wait until I was alone, tho, but they ARE off to Oz sometime for my cousin's 2nd wedding (he's already had a registry office one, but her family couldn't make it over here).

So I have a quick question? The water that you used to rinse the plant matter could you run that through a screen to collect any remains?? Does anyone have any second opinions??

I've always soaked mine for 12hrs at room temp, draining the water every couple of hours. Never heard of the boiling so I wanted more clarification.

I highly recommend the soaking because it's removed a lot the green taste in the final product.

Right I made my butter the other night. Did it as per the instructions but its not solidified yet. Used 750 grams of unsalted butter and a big pan. It seems to have separated but as its in the pan still and still a fair bit of water in there I can't really tell if its ok. Have put it in the fridge now. Any ideas guys? Could I have messed it up??

Being a complete novice...do you need to decarb the weed first? I read on another site that it should be decarbed at high temperature before making butter. I tried this twice and it just burnt...what a waste?
I want to make some cannabutter as my hubby doesn't smoke, i want him to enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks in advance for your help.

...Wonder about the lack of decarboxylation ? if so here goes ....."Scientists in Holland tried to figure out what the optimum temperature for decarboxylation in order to some day scale up the reaction for making cannabis-based pharmaceuticals. They landed on easy numbers to remember: “110 C [230 F] for 110 minutes.” Some of the best mainstream methods of making cannabudder came about from people reaching a similar conclusion, but by trial and error. " Three and a half hours .
No matter where you go , there you are .

Does the weed have to be dried and cured or can you use the weed right after harvest? TY

I've successfully made some one small batch of cannabutter. Then i thought i'll try with a jar of ghee I made a few weeks ago.

I used enough ghee to cover my vape pieces on a low temp oven ring, then added the mini whip and elbow from an arizer extreme q, I was TRYING to keep it on low temp but I put it on medium for a second and I....walked away and forgot for about 10 minutes.

I walked back to a horrific sight... the glass elbow piece sitting in boiling ghee with a tiny bit of the whip tubing left, the rest absorbed into the ghee like the damn T1000.

Chucked the whole lot of ghee away, learned a lesson about watching the oven when high lol and also that the tubing is not as high temp as I originally assumed
