    Can you recommend a good timer that's easy to use and cost effective. (poor and stupid)

    Hi, what do you wamt to controll with it?
    If its just a small load like fans or pumps or low wattage cfls then a cheap segmental timmer will do from B+Q.
    If you need to controll HID lamps like 400/600wt sodium lamps or metal Halide then you will need to switch them via a contactor.Which you can find ready made ones in all grow shops.

    It's a 250watt cfl. and 6" clip on fan.

    Would you recommend any of these?

    Yes that should do the job,although i have had this type of timmer F#*k up before when ive used 2x200wt cfls.
    Always worth investing in things like timmers as you don't want them to go rong, as its usually always when in flower and they stay on

    Yeah. i don't want to get a cheap timer.

    From that list of links i posted, i still don't know which one to get.

    Sorry the 2nd one down in the list will cope with what youve said you want to switch.

    although the forth one down in the list would allow for expansion.
    cant post a link to it..dont no how no a little about growing and nout about p.cs

    I know what you mean, i know a little about either.

    Does the fan need to be on a timer too?

    I leave my fan on all the time to keep the air moving in the grow area
