Cleaning Pipe?

I bought a new glass pipe last week, and its pretty dirty now. My friends told me the best way to clean it would be to but it in some boiling water, and the res build up would be gone in about 10 minutes, and the pipe would be sparkling clean after. I am worried that my pipe will be damaged, since its glass in boiling water, and the design on the inside might get messed up. Is this the best way to clean it or are there any other ways that are better?

ive done this before and it really isnt worth doing. If it is really built up like mine was, it will definately stink up the house. Mine was a double blown regular glass pipe. It didnt exactly get it all out, but it definately turned the water black. Just make sure no one is coming home. I made sure the pipe wasnt sitting on the bottom though, that had worried me.

So i doubt sparkling clean, and i doubt it will get messed up.

I waited for the resin to get pretty thick/dry almost chunky, and i took a clothes hanger wire and pulled all of it out... except for a chunk behind the bowl. after that I would try and boil it or find another way

Use a deodorant spray. Its allmost pure alcohol and will cut through the resin so easily. Then you can use a pipe cleaner (or something similar) to poke inside to wipe the (now loose) resin with ease.

thats a good idea! i think i'll try that, i used iso alcohol and salt but couldnt be arsed shaking it for ages

i guess you would prop the pipe up so the resin will run out the mouthpiece?

The best way I found to get my bowl like new is with nail-polish remover, it will make all the deposits melt in 2mn.

ok definitely dont try wrapping the end of your toothbrush in a cloth and then jamming that down the end of your glass pipe
