You know what though, the N deficiency with it's coper colours and rusty browns together with the purple bits caused by the couple of cold nights they got last week have made them look really pretty, the colours are amazing now. The purple on new growth with tons of crystals is particularly lovely
Hopefully they will fatten up and keep their lovely new colouring for the next week or ten days then I'll take decent pics for the April POTM comp just before harvest
For what it's worth, if you're looking for 50/50 amber/milky trichs then 2weeks is a fair estimate.
Have a word with bubbs or big balls, I believe they've just waited an extra couple of weeks for one of their girls to do similar.
I'd cut the feeds, and give just plain water til they're done.
Cheers for the input man
TBH mate I'm in no hurry for the space or anything so I don't mind waiting a bit longer if I have to so long as they keep making me bud .
I think I'm gonna give them at least one more feed though, they are really hungry for N so I'll give em one feed with a bit more grow which might see em through. It's not necessary to flush bio-bizz fed plants is it?
In theory no, but it's not a bad idea to run plain water for at least the last week. O.k, green plants look lovely, but those that are allowed to use all the stored N will cure to a better end product IMO
The reason why flushing is not such an issue with organic nutes is because the nutes are feeding the soil not the plant, or something like that Think of it like this; when using chem nutes the soil is nothing more than a medium in which to hold the root mass, a bit like hydroton pebbles in a hydro pot. The nutes you add are taken up directly by the plant, and any excess will be stored in the soil resulting in a build up of salts. Which is why, proper flushing is a must! Now, with organics this doesn't happen. When we talk about flushing what we're actually refering to is giving plain water so the palnt will use the nutes stored within itself, giving a cleaner end product.
That old waffle is just my thoughts on the subject, there are others who will no doubt disagree but that's the beauty of freedom of speech is it not?
If you're unsure, try it with one or two plants, and you'll be able to compare the results for yourself
I see your point Diaper mate, I already fed them 2ml grow, 3ml bloom and 3ml topmax two hours ago though
My concern is that they will use up all the stored N before they are finished, especially if they have two or more weeks still to go. I'll definitely be giving them plain water for the last week though
The stinkies just got plain water, but I think this will be their last 'cos I noticed lower leaves going a wee bit yellow so I'll be giving them 1/2ml of grow and bloom next watering I think. Is this a suitable first feed for stinkies?
I don't think they're considered heavy feeders, but I've not grown them so can't confirm that.
Matt says Stinkies are light to medium feeders mate.
Reckon I should start with 1/2ml of grow and bloom or just 1/2 or 1ml of grow?
Oh and one stinkie is still looking a tad stressed - it's got the claw pretty bad but I think it's improving. I'll see how she is over the next few days but as it stands she's a week or so behind her sister.
I'll get some stinkie pics up in the next day or two
Time for a wee Stinky update on day ?? of flower
First off is the better of the two:
And closeups:
Followed by the other Stinky, which is suffering from the claw :
There is some bud porn of the T44s here and in my gallery
Very nice mate, they are starting to bulk up now.
What have you been feeding and how much to the stinky mate?
Because stinky's only like light to moderate feeds.
