Are you potting up and growing them in pots or banging them straight in the ground?

If they're going in the ground you should prep your soil and sprinkle a handful over each of your holes, scratch the meal in and let the weather slowly weather the meal in to your soil gently conditioning it. I think you should do this before 2-3 weeks before you plant out or you may risk burning your young plants.
Why we all should be growing outdoors:

"... it is scientifically proven the best marijuana is grown under the sun. There is no indoor light that can replicate the sun light, the range of cannabinoids and terpene that can develope in the marijuana resin thanks to the sunlight is never achievable on a indoor setting ..."

they are both slow release nutes and most people use them as soil conditioners adding and mixing them early weeks before they use the mix.
