I'm a bit of a photography / cinematography nut.
I also like watching high level documentaries.
If anyone has ever seen Baraka (1992) then you might be interested to know that Ron Fricke's latest project, a film called "Samsara" is due for imminent release.
If you haven't seen Baraka I highly recommend it - for some it can be a truly eye-opening and even life changing watch. Also if (like me) you are an imaging/editing/photography nut then you will be blown away by the detail and image quality of the film - yet to be surpassed imo.
Samsara is likely to be Baraka part 2 really (although there is very little information available on the production).
Ron Fricke is a Cinematographer who uses 70mm film utilising the best still available Eastman and Agfa 65mm stock. Known for being a master of time-lapse and using super-wide (8mm Zeiss lenses) tracking shots. He custom makes his own cameras by scavenging from 70mm Panaflex and some customised Vistavision bodies.
Watch Samsara when it comes out!! (soon).
