germination problems

Hello. I have put a seed in between w pieces of tissue an watered. The seed has cracked an I have a root or shoot that is just sticking out of the shell an does not seem to want to grow anymore. It has been in for about 4 days now an not gettin any bigger.

Shall I plant it anyway or just still it in the bin an try again?

get it planted m8,if it doesnt pop threw the surface in a couple of week try again,usualy takes 2-4 days to break threw.

Plant it immediately root tip down about 1/4 inch beneath the surface of pre wetted soil which should be moist but not waterlogged.
Do not water it after planting until again the surface of the soil is dry and then water from the bottom only to prevent stem rot.
Your seedling should sprout in a few days then put it under a cfl or far away from a metal halide lamp if you have one Good luck!

So should I put the potted seed in a dark place node it come up through the soil?

if you put it under light make sure it is low level or a distance away from a stronger light.
or you can wait till it breaks through the surface then put it under some light,both ways are ok.

As wert says either way is OK. You can wait until it sprouts or put it under a light while you wait.
When it does sprout be very careful not to burn the seedling with powerful HID lamps.
If you use a cfl then you can put it quite close to the seedling, about 6-12 inches should be fine depending on the wattage.
Sodium lamps are not recommended for seedlings because they make them stretch so if you don't have a cfl try and use a metal halide bulb but keep it about 3 feet away from the seedling until you think it can handle the heat before you move it closer. Hope this helps.
