    Question Plug for ruck fans

Hi guys, wondered if someone could help with this one?

i got 2 ruck fans...a 200L for extraction and a smaller 1 for the intake..
whilst doing my reading to find out how to wire them, i came across a few ppl saying they use a 13a plug....

however mine came with 2 wired plugs of 5a each?

is this still ok to use?
or should i uprate it to 13a?

    Watts = voltage x current
    230Volts x 13Amps = 3000watts (ish)
so you should be able to run upto nearly 3000watts on a 13a plug alone, yeah?

For 5a it works out at like 1150watts i think

My mates 5" inline fan i installed the other day is 38watts max, so fans use f all power

Hope that helps enlighten you to the wonderful world of electrical installations, slightly

    Peace

You should NEVER "upgrade" the fuse in these devices it is the surest way to start a fire. If any thing you should drop the fuse to 3amp and also drop all the fuses on all electrical items if you have any "unusual" wiring circuits.

Damn good point, i never even seen that bit
that is dangerous. if the appliance is blowing the fuses that it is rated for then
putting in a larger one isn't fixing the problem, its disguising it
and could lead to a fire

    Good call ICON

the thing most people (including me) find with thctalk is its a friendly community that shares knowledge, instead of other forums that have loads of idiots that argue
