    Cool hollands hope outside

    hello people

i am about halfway through my first ever outdoor grow............iam a bit dissapointed in the size of my babies but i think i should have put more effort into digging bigger holes and giving my plants more good quality soil.........the soil at the site is mainly clay and iam assuming they dont like it much.
Also as its my first time i find myself constantly paranoid that they are male.........i was advised not to buy feminised seeds which i am now regretting as my biggest plant could be male and i wont be a happy man
its now half way through july and iam wondering when i will be certain and also when they will be ready..........iam thinking late sept.
iam feeding them organic feed and the other thing iam wondering is when do i switch to the flowering feed????
iam gonna continue to update this blog and i hope people will add some helpful comments, i will upload a video shortly too

    any help would be welcome
    thanks

why were you advised not to buy feminised seeds? no brainer in my mind?
what ferts are you feeding them, and introduce your bloom when you start seeing pistrals, your plants should start flowering when the daylight gets lower than 15.5 and currently we are getting 16.1 hours daylight gmt,
the paranoia of the males will show pollen sacks if they are and should be strangled accordingly,
best of luck with the hollands hope, are they dutch passion seeds?

i was told that the feminized seeds grow a weaker plant so i got the ordinary seeds (yea they are dutch passion) but i will go fem next year..............its all a bit of a learning curve at the mo..........iam using hydrogarden grow ferts, its an organic feed......you will have to excuse my ignorance but what are the pistrals???
thankyou for the advice its all very welcome.

I'm currently growing some Hollands Hope plants outside, only a few of my 5 feminized seeds sprouted and the plants aren't the biggest compared to my Sensi Skunk plants but after doing a lot of research I discovered they are very well suited for UK outdoor growing.
Try topping the plant to maximise its potential, I topped mine a couple of weeks ago and it's looking healthy and fatter up top now.
I must post some pics soon lol.

meant to be a good outdoor strain - hollands hope, I believe it was bred specifically for growing outside in the northern hemisphere so I think they should do you well. How big are your plants roughly, the one in the pic looks nice and healthy anyway.

I've heard fem seeds tend to have a higher risk of going hermie, but I don't think they are specifically weaker.

Best of luck with the rest of your grow!

They r currently about 3ft tall, like little bushes, they r all healthy I was just hoping they would b a bit bigger by now but it's no coincidence that by far the biggest plant is in the biggest hole. We had some gale force winds the other night and it didn't bother them at all. Does any1 have any idea what they might yield?

3ft sounds like a good enough height mate.. as long as their healthy that's the main thing I'd probably expect them to almost double in height by harvest time so you should be fine. Males do tend to be grow faster and be bigger so you might find that the biggest one is male rather than its size being down to being in a bigger hole (or a bit of both )
