Default Water cooled grow light reflector!

Found on flea bay (item 140440452803) water cooled reflector !!

I've played with water cooling on PCs so I can know the benefits of rapid heat dispersal that air cooling just can't deliver. Anyone had any experience of these or know any more about them?

    ... I think I want one

Can't you post the link instead? To much hassle to copy the code and then open a new window, enter www.ebay.com, paste the code in the bar and then pressing enter.

Looked at them before but don't know much about them, never seen or heard of anyone using them either maybe google em?

    * ATTENTION: Minimum 50-gallon reservoir needed per 1000-watt fixture. Smaller reservoir can be used if using a chiller or heat exchanger.
    * Requires active cooling with a water pump, not included.

sounds like a lotta effort, expense and equipment though, not to mention the fear of leakages. A PC's not too bad when you can get non conductive gel an all that and your near or at it anyway so can see if anythin goes wrong, plus been used by people successfully for years, if you can't find these lights being used successfully I'd be cautious man

I've heard it cut's down lumens due to water not allowing it through. Not that plants see lumens. Humans see lumens.

Your right, but lumens also mesures light intensity, so the brighter... the better for plants...

Imo water flowing around a hps bulb is a recipie for a ballache! Cant be that much more effective than a cooltube surely?

Rather get a bigger fan tbh

If it means that you can get the light closer to the plant then a drop in lumens is worth it as you loose a good percentage of lumens the futher away the light stays from the plant due to heat.

It should be much more effective than a cool tube ... in theory!!!

I don't get where the water goes to cool it down, I can see the intake but how does it work?

Is it double layer glass and water runs between the glass layers?

That seems the only viable option, working as a water jacket
