I have a 15l oxypot and had a big plant..4ft high 4 ft wide and I got the tube to empty the water near the bottom but never used it.I just got another bucket same size as the 15l one and just placed the roots/plant in that spare bucket.The bucket only had 10l of water in so could easily move it..

maplins do a battery operated pump, bout 7 quid.

he doesn't really need that..he only has to get a £1 bucket and just put the plant in that until he changes the water..I am sure he can carry 10l of water..if he emptys that into another container using a pump he still has to carry the water from the pump to his kitchen or bathroom..

So get the same size pot and put plant with lid on that spare pot while I change water etc???

yes mate..honestly 10l of water is not heavy..and I suffer from a bad back lol..

can you put a small hole in the pot near/on the top(big enought for a hose pipe)
then gravity feed it out?
then "bung" it up when your done?

it will be quicker and easier just puttin the plant into a same size pot so the lid can sit nicely on the spare bucket..most of us bubblers growers do it this way..quick and easy..

After much messing about that is what I did and it worked great. I couldn't use the hose on one of me pots as I had to seal it and then didn't use them at all as I don't believe I could get teh pot emptied fully that way. Anyway just get a bucket and set it across while you are changing the res then move it back - could not be easier.
