Default Carbon filter in grow tent

Hi im about to setup my grow tent and am confused with how the carbon filter needs to be setup. I have a secret jardin ds 150 tent with a 600 watt hps light. I have 3fans running in there, i have just purchased and 5" mountain air carbon filter.
My 1st question is will this carbon filter get rid of all the odor throughout the growing/flowering and harvesting period?
2ndly do i just put the carbon filter facing the exit hole at the top of the tent and let the air run through? Or do i have to purchase an extraction fan and ducting and set it up? If so what kind of extraction fans are suitable and how would i set it up with the carbon filter and ducting?

An extraction fan needs to be in place...

It would go Carbon filter > Fan > Out

If you had a cooltube it would be

    CF >ducting> Cooltube >ducting> Fan >ducting> Out

Buy a 4 or 5 inch RVK fan (whatever inch your carbon filter is)... and if you buy a decent carbon filter it will get rid of all smell if the room is sealed well

Inside of tent > filter>ducting>5"fan>ducting > outside of tent.

SHOULD be no smell. No guarantee. Should have got a Rhino/Phat filter.

RVK or Ruck make great fans.

Ok im just going to use the carbon filter to the rvk fan then out of the tent. Is ducting required still? I just checked its a 6" mountain air carbon filter so would i need a 6" rvk fan?

Yes mate, match fan and filter sizes. You can get reducers to narrow the gap, but it's more expense and potentia
    For un necessary complications.

    If cooltube....

Fan blows into/through cooltube, cooltube blows into filter outside of groom. I have been reliably advised it will lengthen the life of the rvk, as opposed to sucking hot air through it. Also cool air straight into cooltube from fan will cool the tube even more.

    Heat for the light* sorry.

I do not have 1 of them lights so at te moment i will be just using the carbon filter, ducting then rvk fan then ducting and to the exit of the tent.
1 other question which is relating to led lighting. Do led lighting have any advantages or disadvantages compared to mh/hps with quality or quantity?
Only advantages i know at the moment are with a switch of the button you can benefit for vegging, flowering and it is safer to use.

No it's a reflector. Forget the cooltube bit. 6 inch fan for 6 inch filter = yes.

Just seen on the internet a fan controller. Would that connect to the fan and give me full control rather then wiring it up myself?
