Red face thinking of switching to hps.

    What do I need?
    My drobe dimensions are h125. W 52. D49.
Atm I'm using a 250w red cfl on movers and the only extraction I got is a 8 inch pc fan and I also got a clip on fan blowing over plant. Drobe is lined in reflecta-gro.

What would I need to change my grow to hps?

Bore a 4inch hole in to the top right side of the cupboard or whatever it was and maybe another one in the Bottom left, put one of those grilles to reduce the light which'll come outt the hole. In the top right hole you could use your pc fan to extract the air but ideally a proper inline fan with ducting and a carbon filter to stop the smell. You would be lookin at around 150 quid (give or take) and this would be for a 250w hps, ballast, reflector, extraction fan, ducting, carbon filter. This is a budget price

Jeeezz didn't really want To spend that much. Thought I'd just get a light, reflector and something to keep temps down.
Might just stick to the cfl unless anyone else got any cheaper options

cfl is your safest bet if you dont want to fork out on a full ventilation set. CFL can still yield okay but it is best to bend/lst/scrog the plant as the penetration isn't like hps so that is the best way to get even penetration on the plant. Hps are much better as I soon saw the difference once I switched over flowering with a red cfl to hps.

My last few grows have been cfl, and the one growing now I have lst'd it but I'm not really happy about the results, I can't seem to get the nodes close enough for tight buds and the flowering takes for bloody ever!

With the 250cfl the temps are ok but if I added a 125w blue cfl and a extra pc fan for extraction would it make a big difference to the results?
