    Question ideal pot size?

we all know that plants need as much pot space as possible but is the an optimum size or a minimum pot size mj should be flowered in?

It depends largely on the size plants you intend to grow mate, but for plants that are vegged for a few weeks before flowering the consensus is around 10L (final pot).
If you flower from seed/cutting you could possibly get away with slightly smaller, and if you are looking to grow monster bushes you'll need bigger than 10L.

    cheers guys,
i've 6 white widow/big bud and with having reduced the size of my shed with additional insulation i am really restricted in pot size now. i can squeeze 6 x 11 litre pots but was unsure if this was enough soil. i'm goning to try scrogging this time though i doubt this makes much difference anyway.
    its 6 x 11 litre or 4 x 17 litre in a 3ft x 3ft space with 400w mh and 90watt led, which should i opt for?

it will not make too much difference with the yield .you will however need to flower the 11L pots earlier so the 11L pots will finish sooner.

It all depends mate. You could get away 2 plants per 17 litre pot so thats eight plants. Six x 11 litre is about 1 per square foot, which will give you a decent harvest.

It's ultimately up to you as your the one who needs to tend the plants....

If your Scrogging just use 4x17 litre pots imo

I no root space is important but so is re potting at the right time ( last 1 just before flower to allow them a little flower room ) I've achieved a plant of 110g in a 6.5 litre pot, she finished at just over 5 foot, i'm using the same pots now for 9 but with a shorter veg time and hope 2 average 50g a plant. bigger pots are great for good plants but if you're restricted you can still achieve nice yields. the 110g plant in question was euforia and i vegged her for 5 weeks in all mix soil, a proper beauty!

I'd say it's related to the lights, veg period, size of plants. Anything over 7.5 litres per ounce yield is overkill IMHO.
Used to do 2- 3 plants in a pot,7.5 litres and each pot averaged just under 2 oz. 4 such pots under a 400 hps.
